Virat Kohli involved in a heated exchange with Taijul Islam on Day 3 of second test | BANvIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India captain Virat Kohli was involved in a heated exchange with Bangladesh left arm spinner Taijul Islam after being dismissed in India’s second innings on Day 3 of the ongoing second test at Sher e Bangla stadium on Friday.

The heated exchange broke out when Kohli was dismissed by a fantastic catch at short-leg by Mominul Haque off a Mehidy Hasan delivery. Kohli, evidently looked frustrated with his dismissal and started walking back. But he seemed to have heard something that Taijul said to him, prompting an aggressive reaction from the Indian superstar.

Kohli then started walking towards Taijul, giving him a mouthful himself. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and the umpires had to intervene to calm the situation down. Shakib could be seen talking to Taijul in the team huddle after the whole situation ended.

It was a bad day at the office for Kohli, who was dismissed after scoring just one run off 22 deliveries. A few balls before being dismissed, Kohli was signaled out by Bangladesh-born umpire Sharfuddoula for an LBW. Kohli, who had brought forward his stride against spinner Taijul Islam and inside-edged the ball into his pad, was left bewildered by the decision and opted for a review straight away.

Upon further scrutiny by the third umpire, it clearly showed that the ball had taken a major chunk of the ball before hitting his pad. This prompted Kohli to give a death stare to the umpire after the third umpire confirmed that he was not out.
