Xtra Time Web Desk: Alia Kankaria from Kolkata has made history by becoming the first girl from West Bengal to win a Squash Nationals title in any age group at just 10 years old. Alia’s remarkable journey began at six, and with the guidance of coach Shri Sandeep Yadav, her game has reached international standards. Her school, RPGIS Kolkata, has been a strong pillar of support throughout her journey.

Alia gained experience by playing tournaments across India and made an impressive international debut at the Scottish Junior Open 2024 in Edinburgh, finishing runner-up against top players from the USA and UK. She continued her success at the British Junior Open 2025 in Birmingham, securing 9th place after beating players from the USA, China, and Malaysia.
Her biggest triumph came at the SRAFTKL International Junior Open 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, where she clinched her first international title by defeating Asia’s number one player from Malaysia.
