Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has slammed his teammate Fernandez and the Copa America-winning Argentina team for their racist chants targetting France players.

The incident followed Argentina's 1-0 victory over Colombia in Miami Gardens, Florida. France defender Wesley Fofana, Fernandez's Chelsea teammate, condemned the video as an act of "uninhibited racism," highlighting that the chants specifically targeted French players with African connections holding French passports.

In response, Fernandez apologized on Instagram, expressing regret for the offensive language used in the chant and distancing himself from the sentiments expressed.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino reiterated the organization's zero-tolerance approach to racism and mentioned plans to relaunch a task force to monitor such incidents.
