Xtra Time Web Desk: Riding on the brilliant performances of Shubman Gill and Yuzvendra Chahal, Shikhar Dhawan led India thrashed West Indies by 119 runs to clean-sweep the ODI series 3-0 at Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday. Shubman smashed an unbeaten 98 while Chahal took 4/17. Chasing 257 in 37 overs, the hosts were bundled out for 137 runs in 26 overs. India posted 225/3 in 34 overs.

Mohammed Siraj gave India double breakthroughs in his first over as he dismissed Kyle Mayers and Shamarah Brooks for ducks. With West Indies 0/2, Shai Hope and Brandon King launched a fightback with a 47-run stand.

But it was Yuzvendra Chahal who broke the stand, as he foxed Shai Hope who was left stranded outside the crease. Sanju Samson completed the stumping.

West Indies pinned their hopes on Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder. While the two started cautiously and then Pooran took on, smashing Prasidh Krishna for 17 runs. But a mistimed shot ended Pooran’s knock. Holder too ran out of partners as Yuzvendra Chahal ran through the lower order to bowl West Indies out for 137 runs.

Earlier in the Indian innings, it was heartbreak for Shubman Gill as he was left stranded on 98 runs as the rain interruption saw the cut-off time passed.

The two sides will now be involved in five match T20I series.
