Burdwan district sports Association formerly Ban Behari District Athletic Assocrattoon was founded in the year 1900 by late Raja Bon Behari kapur, near relative of Late Maharaja Sir Bijoy Chand Mahatab Bohadur of Burdwan, with the expresspurpose of promoting sports and games of Foot ball, cricket,Athletic & other physicial activities in Burdwan District with the help of several local digrotories like santosh Kumar Basu,Promoda prosad Mukherja (Delhi),

At that time, sports and games were organized in the camping ground, presently Spandan. Foot ball exhibition games were organized at the Magistrate Ground (sadhonpur), where famous Calcutta clubs, like Mohan Bagan, Md. Sporting, Aryan, Camorarians and Cylon XI played some exhibition games in the year 1941-1943. The participant players were, Jumma Khan, Bacchi Khan, Nur Md (Sr) Nur Md (Jr), Abbas (captain ) of Md Sporting where as Balai Chatterji, K.Dutta (Goalkaper), A. Roy Choadhury an Sarat Das of Mohan Bagan.

Camping Ground,presently spadan has become a stadium cum-park where 2nd Div, 3rd Div Football league games and age-group Foot-ball games are being conducted.

In order lo encoreage the local boys to pasticipate sn sports activities and improving their physicial Fitness and skileness and promoting the qualities of sportsmanship, our benevolent Maharani of Burdwan, Smt. Radharani Mahatab, donated a suitable land at Moaza-Bhatchala, P.s.Burdwan for construction of a stadium along with ancillaxy structures, where the present stadium, Radharani Stadium has been installed in the game of Maha Rani, in the name and style Radharani Stadium along with a Multi-gym Room with apparatus, where the Boys and Girls are being imported training , since the Gymnastic is The mother of all sports

Lastly, we are proud to declare that we have observed and calolorted our centenary day in the year 2001 in a very befitting manner by august presence of late Jyoti Basu, the than Chief Minister West Bengal
