Former India tennis legend Akhtar Ali passed away on Sunday

XtraTime Web Desk – Akhtar Ali, a renowned tennis legend passed away on Sunday night after he was facing multiple health resulted issues. Ali was 83 years old and he was recently detected with prostate cancer.

Ali was already suffering from Dementia and Parkinson’s disease but according to family sources, when he was taken to a hospital couple of weeks ago, doctors noticed a limp in his chest and the prostate cancer was detected. The doctors couldn’t do anything as his condition was very fragile.

Other than being a legendary player, Ali was also famous for his coaching skills. He influenced a lot of careers including that of legendary Leander Paes. He played 8 Davis Cup ties between 1954-1964. Not only he captained his side but also coached the national side.
