Xtra Time Web Desk: Did Virat Kohli tested positive for Covid-19 and recovered after reaching United Kingdom? As per reports former India captain Virat Kohli had tested positive for Covid-19 but has recovered after reaching London last week. Kohli was seen taking part in the training sessions with the team at Leicestershire.

According to a report in TOI, Kohli was struck by Covid-19 after the team landed in London last week. Kohli before travelling to London was on holidays in Maldives.  The paper has quoted a source saying Kohli tested positive after landing in London. 

“Yes, Virat too was hit by Covid after returning from holidaying in Maldives, but he’s recovered now,” a source told TOI.

The former India captain was seen rushing out of Kokilabayen Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on the day he arrived from Maldives.

Despite the advisories from BCCI, the players were seen mingling with fans openly without mask and social distancing. The likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen taking selfies with fans in Leicester and London.

Ace Indian off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also tested positive and is now quarantining. He will travel to UK only after clearing all health protocols. He is supposed to travel to UK on Friday.

Meanwhile, United Kingdom has seen spikes in Covid-19 cases in last few days. England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that England team’s batting coach Marcus Trescothick has tested positive. England captain Ben Stokes is also feeling unwell. Stokes tested negative but did not train with the team on Tuesday.
