Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Sunday said both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should feature in the side for forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024. According to Ganguly, both Rohit and Virat have done well in recent times across formats and deserve a place in the T20 side as well even though the two-star players have not featured in T20Is since India’s embarrassing exit from the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
“Off course both Virat and Rohit should play T20 World Cup. Virat Kohli is an outstanding player,” Sourav said to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Kolkata.

All eyes will be on Ajit Agarkar led selection committee whether they pick both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Indian T20I squad for the three match T20I series against Afghanistan starting from January 11. The selectors are in a dilemma whether to pick one or both for the Afghanistan series
Chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar recently travelled to Cape Town during the second test match against South Africa to have a detailed discussions with both the senior cricketers. Both Rohit and Virat expressed their availability in T20 format.
Virat was the top scorer in the recently concluded World Cup at home. He scored 765 runs including 3 hundreds. Rohit Sharma also scored almost 600 runs in the tournament.
Sourav heaped loads of praises on the Indian team for their historic win in the second test against South Africa at Cape Town. Rohit Sharma and his boys were the first Indian team to win a test match at the Newlands stadium after seven attempts. The way the Indian team bounced back after getting outplayed in the first test at Centurion was incredible.
“There is so much talk about this Indian team whenever they lose a match. All I can say they are a very good side,” said Sourav.
