UCL Semi Final Leg 2: Man City thrash Real Madrid 4-0 at Etihad, set up title clash with Inter Milan

Xtra Time Web Desk: Manchester City thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 (5-1 aggregate) in the second leg of the Champions League semi final at the Etihad stadium on Wednesday night. Bernardo Silva scored a brace (23’ & 37’) along with a late strike from Julian Alvarez (90+1’). Eder Militao scored an own goal. City will now take on Inter Milan in the final to be played at Istanbul on June10.

Pep Guardiola’s side was too good for Real Madrid as they continued their fantastic form this season with 23 games unbeaten. The home team won their last 15 games at the Etihad Stadium. City have reached the Champions League final for the second time, previously doing so in 2020-21.

Guardiola became the third manager to win 100 Champions League matches, after Carlo Ancelotti (107) and Sir Alex Ferguson (102).

This was the joint biggest margin of victory in a single Champions League semi-final match, and Real Madrid’s joint biggest defeat in any round of the competition.

In the other semi-final Inter Milan defeated AC Milan 2-0 (aggregate 3-0) at the San Siro stadium on Tuesday night.
