Xtra Time Web Desk: Gujarat Titans left arm pacer Yash Dayal made a comeback into the Titan’s playing XI for the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, May 15. It was exactly 35 days the young pacer returned into the GT playing XI since that nightmare on April 9, after he was hit for five sixes by KKR’s Rinku Singh. The left arm pacer did not disappoint as he picked Abhishek Sharma, caught at the slips in his first over at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The entire Gujarat Titans players and support staffs rallied behind the young pacer. On the same night after Dayal was taken to cleaners by Rinku in the final over, his teammates planned a dance and singing night and ensured the pacer went to sleep relaxed and with a smile on his face. Coach Ashish Nehra played a big role in Dayal’s comeback, constantly backing him during the practice sessions.

It is very important for Yash to learn that there will be more bad days than good in sport. In a young career Yash has already experienced the highs and lows in life. From getting picked by the franchise for 3.2 crores ahead of IPL 2022 season, being part of the champion side to getting clobbered for five sixes by KKR’s Rinku Singh. There was uncertainty in Yash Dayal’s availability in the ongoing season as GT captain Hardik Pandya revealed a few days after the youngster failed to defend 29 runs against KKR that he had lost 7 to 8 kgs weight and gone seriously ill.

Sport is all about embracing the challenges and come up successful. It pushes you. Tests you. Breaks you at times. But also gives you an opportunity to come back. The left arm pacer from Uttar Pradesh did that in his comeback game against SRH, and this should make him stronger going forward. Yash Dayal has seen the lows. Now it can only get better for him.
