XtraTime Web Desk – A very convincing victory for FC Goa as the team looked strong both defensively and offensively. Naveen Kumar, their goalkeeper saved them on multiple occasions otherwise the scoreline would’ve been a bit different.

Jamshedpur was pressing FC right from the start. The only thing FC had to do then is to play passing football and in the right direction to counter their pressing. They did it well from the beginning and thus no pressure was created until the 11th minute. Isaac’s long range effort was denied by Naveen stretching wide till the post.

Goa wasn’t quite at all. They did fire. Only if Jorge Ortiz would’ve passed the ball to Saviour Gama in the 16th minute, Goa could’ve easily been 1-0 up. Ortiz however tried his luck but the shot was saved by Rehenesh. Ortiz however didn’t took a long time to score. In the 19th minute, he put FC Goa ahead.

Jamshedpur tried to score and be on level terms but Valskis’ close range shot was beautifully kept out by their man-in-form, Naveen Kumar. Jamshedpur pulled hard for an equaliser but Goan defence did their job perfectly as referee whistled for the half-time break.

Jorge Ortiz scored his second goal of the match in the 52nd minute. His form upfront helped FC Goa to play quality football to keep the pressure intact on the red miners. Post that, both the teams got some really good chances to score. Jamshedpur pushed really hard in the final 15-20 minutes but luck didn’t favour them and again, Naveen Kumar who had a brilliant night under the bar rescued them on multiple occasions. Both the teams played attacking football and the match was very intense at one point. Jamshedpur looked to score but they never could. Their momentum broke when Alex Lima was shown a red card after 2 yellow cards.

Jamshedpur lose confidence and Goa capitalized on that. A beautiful counter attack started by Ivan Gonzalez. The defender covered a lot of distance with the ball and played a 1-2-1 with one of the forwards to score a beautiful goal to give Goa a 3 goal cushion. The match ended 3-0 in favour of the Gaurs but Jamshedpur did fight well but wasn’t their night.

Jamshedpur are now 7th in the league with 13 points from 11 games. Goa is marching high as the Gaurs are 3rd in the table with 18 points from 11 games.
