Xtra Time Web Desk: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has stunned the cricket world by marrying actress Sana Javed amidst rumours of his separation to former India tennis star Sania Mirza. The Pakistan cricketer confirmed the news by posting his wedding photo with actress Sana Javed on micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter) with a caption, “Alhamdullilah, And We created you in pairs”. According to multiple reports, the duo had seperated. Sania’s father Imran Mirza has told media that “it was a ‘khula'”, which refers to the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.
Who is Sana Javed? She is a popular actress in Pakistan and was previously married to singer Umar Jaswal from 2020. Sana too changed her Instagram bio to Sana Shoaib Malik. It is the third marriage for Shoaib Malik, who had earlier divorced Ayesha Siddiqui in 2010 before marrying Sania Mirza later that year. Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik, who married in 2010, and has a son named Izhaan.
There have been rumours going around that both Shoaib and Sana has had their differences and will soon break-up. The speculation got intensified when Sania posted a cryptic message about marriage and divorce on Wednesday.
The couple had celebrated their son Izhaan’s birthday in Dubai last year, temporarily putting an end to speculations. They also co-hosted the ‘Mirza-Malik’ TV show from Dubai, further dispelling rumours. Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza’s marriage had commenced with a traditional Muslim ceremony in Hyderabad, India, followed by a Walima ceremony in Sialkot, Pakistan. Their son Izhaan was born in 2018.
