Shami likely to travel to London for consulting a specialist : Report

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami is likely to travel to London to consult a specialist for his injured ankle. According to reports, Shami will be accompanied by Nitin Patel, the head of sports science at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The decision to seek expert advice in the UK was apparently reached after a discussion between NCA medical staff. It is not clear yet when will Shami travel to United Kingdom.

Shami has been out of action since the 50 overs World Cup at home. The fast bowler from Amroha missed the T20I series against Australia at home. He also did not travel to South Africa for the two match test series. The Bengal pacer was not included in the test squad for the first two tests against England starting in Hyderabad from January 25. It is still not sure if Shami will be available from the third test against England. The fast bowler has not yet started bowling.
