T20 World Cup 2021: Pakistan PM Imran Khan wants squad to be reviewed by Ramiz Raja

Xtra Time Web Desk: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered a review of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad. The former Pakistan captain wants newly appointed PCB Chairman Ramiz Raza to review the team that was picked for the T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled to begin next month in UAE and Oman.

The 15 man Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup had several surprises with experienced opener Fakhar Zaman not finding a place in the main squad along with veteran Shoaib Malik.  Hours after the squad was announced the head coach and bowling coach, Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis resigned from their positions.

According to a report in Samaa News, places of a few players are in danger. The likes of Azam Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Khushdil Shah and Mohammad Nawaz are under scanner and likely to be dropped from the final T20 World Cup squad. It is learnt that Fakhar Zaman, Sharjeel Khan, Shoaib Malik, Shahnawaz Dahani and Usman Qadir are being considered to replace them.

Notably, the World Cup squads can be changed until October 10 according to ICC’s rules after which the teams will have to seek the cricketing body’s permission in case of any injuries.
