Serie A: Ronaldo scores from penalty as Juventus beat Bologna 2-0

XtraTime Web Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo made amends of his failure in the Coppa Italia semi final and final as the Portugese superstar scored from a penalty to help Juventus secure a 2-0 win over Bologna at the San Siro on Monday night. Pablo Dybala scored the other goal for Juve as the Italian giants resumed their Serie A campaign on a winning note after the forced break due to coronavirus pandemic.


Ronaldo was in the news after missing a spot kick in a Coppa Italia match against AC Milan 10 days ago, The five time Ballon d’Or winner made no mistake from the spot kick in the 23rd minute of the match. Juventus was awarded a penalty after VAR replay showed Matthijis was brought down by Bologna defender Stefano Denswil. Paolo Dybala extended the lead in the 36th minute with a superb curling shot after receiving a pass from Federico Bernardeschi.


The win took Juventus to 66 points from 27 games, extending their lead on top by four points over second placed Lazio who are on 62 points from 26 games. Inter Milan are on third spot in the table with 57 points from 26 games.
