Johnny Acosta reaches home finally, shares image with his dad

XtraTime Web Desk: Former Costa Rican world cupper Johnny Acosta finally made it home after facing an ordeal for almost two months. Acosta was entangled in a tussle between East Bengal and Quess after the later parted ways with the Kolkata club. The Costa Rican footballer would have never imagined in his wildest dreams that he would have to face such a stuation when he was forced to be stranded in Kolkata even after the I League was called off by the All India Football Federation. Acosta was signed mid-way into the I League last season to bolster the East Bengal defence. Acosta managed to reach home after spending a few nights at the Costa Rican Embassy in New Delhi.

The 36-year-old Acosta, who played in the 2014 and 2018 editions of the World Cup, shared his frustration towards the East Bengal management and Quess on his social media platform. He is yet to be paid his salaries as per his contract with the club.

Acosta took a flight from the capital to Washington on Saturday. He next took a connecting flight to Texas. The footballer shared an image of him with his father on instagram after reaching his native. He wrote “Feel the Day of the Father, especially with my grateful gratitude for your feelings !!! Te amo”
