Serie A: Juventus lift trophy despite 1-3 defeat against Roma at home

XtraTime Web Desk: Champions Juventus ended the Serie E season with a disappointing 1-3 loss against Roma at home on Saturday night. Juve was last beaten at home in a Serie A match by Napoli in April 2018. It was also the second successive defeat for Juventus since clinching the title a week ago. They lost to Cagliari 0-2 away from home on Wednesday. Juve finished the campaign with 83 points, one ahead of Inter Milan.

It was the home side who took the lead in the 5th minute through Gonzalo Higuain. Nikola Kalinic headed Roma level in the 23rd minute. Diego Perotti put the visitors ahead from a penalty just before halftime. Perotti added the third in the 52nd minute following a dazzling run by Nicolo Zaniolo.

Juventus, who host Olympique Lyonnais in a Champions League round of 16, second leg on Friday, rested several regulars including Cristiano Ronaldo.
