Xtra Time Web Desk: Ace India opener Rohit Sharma is all set to join his teammates at Melbourne on Wednesday. Rohit, who is serving the 14-day isolation period in Sydney, will finish his quarantine on Tuesday (December 29). He is all set to fly to Melbourne on December 30.
The 33-year-old had landed in Australia on December 14 after clearing the fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Since Rohit had to undergo the 14-day isolation period, he wasn’t in contention for selection for the first two Test matches.
The batsman from Mumbai will need to undergo another fitness test by the team management before being eligible for selection in the third test at Sydney Cricket Ground starting January 07 next year. Rohit was selected in the Test squad but he didn’t fly with the other members due to personal reasons. In November, he landed at NCA to clear fitness test and was cleared to fly to Australia after clearing the test on December 11. Rohit had suffered a hamstring injury during IPL 2020 in UAE.
