Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian captain Virat Kohli has been named as the ‘Cricketer of the Decade’ by the International Cricket Council. Regarded as the modern great, Kohli was also selected for ‘ODI Cricketer of the Decade’. The Indian batsmen amassed more than 10,000 ODI runs, most by any during the last decade. He also scored 39 tons and 48 fifties at an average of 61.83.

Kohli though missed out on the ‘Test Cricketer of the Decade’ award as it was awarded to Australian batsman Steve Smith. The Aussie has amassed a total of 7040 Test runs at an incredible average of 65.79.

Afghanistan’s leg spinner Rashid Khan was selected as T20I cricketer of the decade. Rashid’s name has risen in T20 cricket with him being the first name on the team sheet in most of the tournaments he has played in. In the ICC Awards period, Rashid picked up 89 wickets at an average of 12.62.

Sharing his thoughts in a video shared by ICC, Kohli spoke about the three biggest achievements of his career, which included the 2011 ICC World Cup win, 2013 ICC Champions Trophy victory and leading India to their maiden Test series triumph in Australia in 2018-19.
