Ravindra Jadeja shares update on rehab ahead of team selection for remaining three tests against England

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Wednesday shared an update on his injury on social media handle Instagram. Jadeja had to miss the second test against England in Vizag after suffering a hamstring injury during the 1st Test in Hyderabad. The star all-rounder is responding well to his rehab at the National Cricket Academy. The report from NCA medical staffs will decide whether Jadeja is picked for all the remaining three tests or not.

The left hander has been sharing regular updates on his rehab at the National Cricket Academy. He recently posted a picture of him smiling with two thumbs up with a caption that read, “Getting better.”

He also shared a video of him taking small sprints clearly indicating that there is no tear in hamstring. It was an injury which looks it is getting better. But for him to make himself available for selection, NCA medical staffs report is awaited.

Jadeja made a useful contribution with the bat in the 1st Test against England. He was the top scorer with 87 runs during India’s 1st innings and helped the team get a 190-run lead. The left-arm spinner picked up a total of 5 wickets in the Test match as well which India lost by 28 runs.

The cricketer from Saurashtra suffered an injury to his hamstring when he was going for a quick single during India’s second innings. He was run-out after a brilliant effort from England captain Ben Stokes. Jadeja was seen clutching his hamstring as he walked back to the pavilion.

Ahead of the second test in Vizag, the BCCI announced that both Jadeja and KL Rahul were not available due to injuries. Rahul complained of a pain in his right quadriceps. But the good news is both have responded well to the rehab at NCA. It is very likely that either of them if not both will be included for the remaining three tests subject to fitness.

The third test between India and England will begin in Rajkot from February 15.
