PM Narendra Modi, MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev to attend the World Cup final on Sunday | CWC2023

Xtra Time Web Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest for the India versus Australia final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday, November 19. Former World Cup winning captains of India MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev are also likely to grace the game at Narendra Modi Stadium. Legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who is also the ambassador for the mega event will attend too.

There will be a small entertainment show as well for the capacity crowd along with air show on the day of the final. Singers Dua Lipa, Pritam Chakraborty and Aditya Gadhavi performing. Tickets for the final is already sold out with a capacity 1,30,000 fans to attend.

All the family members of the Indian cricket team squad will be in the stands to cheer. All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who had to be ruled out due to an injury mid-way in the tournament will be at the Narendra Modi Stadium too to cheer his teammates. Hardik was also at the Wankhede stadium on Wednesday, November 15 to watch the first semi-final between India and New Zealand.

 Rohit Sharma led India team have reached the final without losing a single match. Australia on the other hand defeated South Africa by 3 wickets in the second semi-final at Eden Gardens to progress into the final. It will be a repeat of the 2003 World Cup final when Ricky Ponting led Australia defeated India at the Wanderers stadium in South Africa.
