MCC World Cricket committee to meet in Mumbai next week

Internet Desk: A meeting of the MCC World Cricket committee will be held at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7thDecember 2016.

Among the main items on the agenda are:

1.The balance between bat and ball – a development of previous discussions to include specific proposals for the regulation of bat sizes.

2.A review of the game-wide consultation and trials on player behaviour, to be followed by a debate to consider the inclusion of on-field disciplinary measures in the Laws of Cricket.

3.The structure of international cricket – to include discussion on context, a Test championship and the possibility of four-day Test matches.

4.Cricket in the Olympic Games.

Media arrangements:

A press conference will be held at the Wankhede Stadium at 1.45pm on Wednesday 7th December featuring Mike Brearley (Chairman), John Stephenson (MCC Head of Cricket) and other committee representatives.

Media wishing to attend the press conference must already have accreditation from the BCCI.

Statements from the meeting will be issued to all media soon after the conclusion of the MCC World Cricket committee meeting.
