Manchester United issues statement following arrest of Captain Harry Maguire in Greece

XtraTime Web Desk: Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been arrested in Greece following an incident on Thursday night. The England defender was arrested following an altercation while holidaying in Mykonos.

According to a club statement released by the club on Friday, “The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night.”

It further said, “Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment.”

“At this time we will be making no further comment.” United players are taking time off after their exit from Europa League last week. The club were eliminated by Spanish side Sevilla last Sunday.

Maguire was signed by United for a record £80m from Leicester last summer, making him the most expensive defender in Premier League. In his first season at Old Trafford he was an ever-present in the Premier League, scoring one goal.
