XtraTime Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore is hopeful that the Australian and England cricketers will be available for the franchise from the start of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). As many as five cricketers from England and Australia feature in the KKR squad this season with the likes of Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins, Tom Banton, Chris Green and Harry Gurney.

The Australian and English cricketers will be involved in a three match T20I and ODI series in the UK with the final and third ODI to be played at the Old Trafford on August 16.

In an interview to news agency IANS, KKR CEO Venky Mysore said he is hopeful of getting all the English and Aussie cricketers from the first match of the IPL this season.

“We are hopeful,” said Mysore to IANS.

IPL had recently indicated to franchises that relaxation of the mandatory seven-day quarantine period that players had to undergo after arriving in the UAE was unlikely. That period also includes team members clearing three COVID-19 tests before they can begin training.

“They are working on a plan. Let’s see what happens,” Mysore said when asked about the same.

The 13th edition of the cash rich league will begin next month from September 19. The 53 days tournament will be played across three venues in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
