Xtra time Web Desk: RCB all-rounder Kate Cross disclosed that it was Virat Kohli who asked the team owners to recognize the achievements of the women's team following their historic victory in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024. Earlier this month, RCB clinched victory over Delhi by 8 wickets in the final held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux claimed the Player of the Match award for her stellar performance, dismantling the opposition's top order and securing 3 crucial wickets. Shreyanka Patil also excelled, grabbing 4 wickets as Bangaluru restricted Delhi to 113 runs in 18.3 overs. On Tuesday, March 19th, the unbox event of the RCB men’s team unfolded at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. During this event, the men's team honoured the women's side with a guard of honour, expressing their admiration for their accomplishments.

While the RCB women shone in the WPL 2024, Kohli is currently demonstrating his prowess for the men's team in the IPL2024. He initially struggled against Chennai and was eventually dismissed by left-arm speedster Mustafizur Rahman. However, he bounced back to form as Bangalore secured a victory over Punjab by 4 wickets in Bengaluru. Kohli scored a brilliant 77 runs off 49 balls, including 11 fours and 2 sixes, before being dismissed by Harshal Patel. Following RCB's triumph, Kohli was awarded the Player of the Match accolade.
