ISL: East Bengal will add glamour to the league, feels Sanjoy Sen

XtraTime Web Desk: Former I league winning coach Sanjoy Sen feels the addition of Kolkata giants East Bengal will add glamour to Indian Super League (ISL). The assistant coach of ATK does not want to go into the intricacies of East Bengal’s current situation with Quess. Neither he is too interested to know the conditions laid down by FSDL in allowing the Red and Gold to take part in the ISL.

According to Sanjoy Sen, “A club like East Bengal which is rich in tradition in Indian football should be allowed to play in the top tier league i.e., ISL. It will be good for football in Bengal as well.”

He added, “The interested surrounded with Kolkata derby will be missing if East Bengal is not allowed to play in the ISL. After all everyone associated with Indian football knows the importance and popularity of the Kolkata derby.”

East Bengal’s arch rivals Mohun Bagan will take part in the ISL after its merger with ATK. They will take part in the top tier league as one entity. If East Bengal is also allowed to play in the ISL then the popularity of the league will only enhance.
