XtraTime Web Desk: A minutes silence will be observed before the start of all La Liga games in memory of the coronavirus victims in Spain, announced the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Sunday. It is a mark of tribute towards the victims who lost lives in the pandemic. The Spanish Football Federation also decided to follow the same tribute in Segunda, the second tier matches as well.

In a joint statement by La Liga and Spanish Football Federation, it said, “Both organisations have reached an agreement to pay a sincere tribute this season to all those who have left us because of the pandemic, as well as their families.”

La Liga will resume from Thursday, June 11 after being suspended since March 12 due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic. On the first day Sevilla will take on Real Betis. Real Mallorca will be hosting reigning champions Barcelona on Saturday (June 20) while Real Madrid will host Eibar on Sunday (June 21).

Barcelona is leading the La Liga table with 58 points from 27 matches followed by Real Madrid who have 56 points from same number of matches. Both sides have 11 matches left matches left.

Spain has been one of the worst hit countries across Europe with more than 27000 deaths till date.
