IPL 2021: Why did Andre Russell post a cryptic IG story with bottle of alcohol?

Xtra Time Web Desk: This year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), is nearly halfway through for the league phase, and while some teams have performed out of their skin, a number of consistent sides such as KKR have failed to do well thus far. This is reflected in the fact that KKR’s star all-round player, Andre Russell, seems to be going through a rough patch.

Russell has posted a cryptic Instagram story that shows his apparent anger at his current form. The Caribbean posted a cryptic message saying, “It’s ok to not be ‘ok’,” while holding a bottle of Old Monk, an alcoholic beverage. This post of his has gone viral on social media, with fans assuming it to be an expression of distress with regard to his current form and KKR’s rough start.

So far this season, KKR has only won two out of 6 games in the IPL, and are sitting at 5th in the league table. Russell himself has struggled in most games with the bat, scoring just 118 runs thus far. His form is a matter of concern for his team as well. He has, however, made a decent contribution with the ball. His position in the KKR batting order has been a matter of great debate this season for fans and pundits alike, with many people being of the opinion that he isn’t getting to bat to his full potential thanks to him batting lower in the order.
