Xtra Time Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings were dealt with a double blow on Saturday in the IPL game against Delhi Capitals at Sharjah Stadium. Apart from losing the match by 5 wickets, CSK’s  star all rounder Dwayne Bravo is likely to be sidelined for at least couple of weeks with a groin injury.

It was due to the injury to Bravo, CSK Captain MS Dhoni was forced to give the final over to Ravindra Jadeja who failed to defend 16 runs as Axar Patel hit him for three sixes. Bravo had to leave the field after he sustained the injury, but prior to going off he bowled three overs for 23 runs and had taken the important wicket of Shreyas Iyer.

Chennai Super Kings Coach Stephen Fleming gave an update about Bravo’s injury, saying it will take at least couple of weeks to recover.

“Unfortunately Dwayne Bravo got injured so he could not bowl the last over, naturally he is a death bowler, that’s the way our season has been going, we are having challenges thrown at us. Jadeja was not planned to bowl at the death, but with Bravo getting injured, we did not have any other option,” said Fleming during the post-match press conference

He added,  “He (Bravo) seems to have a right groin injury, obviously it was serious enough to keep him from coming back to the field, he is just really disappointed that he was not able to bowl the final over, that’s pretty much for what he is in the team for. He would have to be reassessed going forward, at this stage, you would imagine that it would take few days or a couple of weeks.”
