IPL 2019: Michael Vaughan invites the ire of Indian fans for his comment

XtraTime Web Desk: Former England captain Michael Vaughan has once again invited the ire of Indian fans for his comments. Vaughan has recently suggested the Indian cricket board or the BCCI to rest Virat Kohli from the ongoing Indian Premier League after the later has failed to inspire his team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) yet after playing six matches.

Kohli led RCB suffered to four wickets defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals in Match No 20 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2019). It was the sixth consecutive defeats for the franchise and looks very unlikely to qualify for the Play Offs.

Considering the miserable performance of Bangalore, former England skipper Vaughan has suggested the BCCI to rest Kohli from the remaining matches of the cash rich league to keep him fresh for the forthcoming World Cup to be staged in England.

Vaughan tweeted,“If India are smart they rest @imVkohli now for the World Cup … Give him some time off before the big event … #IPL2019”.

Besides RCB’s horrible show, Virat is also having a tough time with the bat. In six matches, the Bangalore skipper has amassed 203 runs with only one half-century, very unlike the high standards he sets.

India opens their campaign in the World Cup against South Africa on June 5 at Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
