After Minerva Punjab, another I-League club threatens to shut down in protest against The AIFF

Kolkata:
After Hero I-League side Minerva Punjab threatened The All India Football Federation to shut down their club in protest against the parent body of Indian football, now it’s Neroca FC, who joins them with the same thought process. In social media release, the Manipuri club who appointed Indian football legend Renedy Singh as their Head Coach a few days back, announced that they too want to shut down their club in protest against the federation.

In an interaction with xtratime.in journalist Suman Chakravorty, Neroca CEO Naoba Thangjam said, “We came to know that the AIFF President is not willing listen to us and they will forcefully make ISL the no.1 league in the country. This is a shame. After playing so well, we earned our place in the highest division of Indian football. Now, they are pushing us to play in the second division, which is the League 1. If this happens, we have no intention of running the club.”

The Neroca CEO also said, “We discussed the matter for time and again with the top AIFF officials, but unfortunately, no one responded on a positive note. Thus we are preparing to shut down the club.”

Minerva Punjab owner Ranjit Bajaj too supported Neroca to protest against the parent body of Indian football. Seems like a new storm is about to begin in Indian football.

Though, as per The AIFF sources, the same format of I-League & ISL might continue for another season.
