India to tour Zimbabwe for five T20Is after T20 World Cup

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricket team will be touring Zimbabwe for a five match T20I series in July. The tour will immediately follow the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. All the five matches are scheduled to be played at the Harare Sports Club July 6 to 14, featuring four daytime clashes commencing at 1 pm local time, and a solitary night fixture starting at 6 pm.

The upcoming series marks India’s return to Zimbabwe after their triumphant three-match ODI tour in August 2022, where they secured a clean sweep with a 3-0 victory. Subsequently, the teams crossed paths only once at the T20 World Cup in Australia later that year.

Both sides have faced each other in eight T20Is, with India emerging victorious in six encounters. Despite the extensive participation of 20 teams in this year’s T20 World Cup, Zimbabwe unfortunately failed to qualify. This setback followed their exclusion from the 2023 ODI World Cup as well, underscoring the challenges faced by the Zimbabwean cricket team on the international stage. As cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the upcoming T20I series, it provides both nations with an opportunity to renew their cricketing rivalry.
