ICC World Cup: Afghanistan names an exciting squad, who are the surprises?

XtraTime Web Desk:
Afghanistan brings back their former captain Asghar Afghan into the squad as he has been included in his country’s 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup 2019. Fast bowler Hamid Hassan has also been included.

The 31-year-old Hassan, who last played in 2017, was out of action with fitness issues. He has, however, made a comeback to the squad, although his fitness remains under scrutiny.

“Luckily for us, the comeback of senior fast bowler Hamid Hassan is good news,” Dawlat Khan Ahmadzai, the chief selector, said. “However, we will take into account his form and fitness during upcoming practice matches.”

Gulbadin Naib will lead the side that includes stars Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Shahzad and Samiullah Shinwari also feature in the side.

Squad:

Gulbadin Naib (cap), Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Noor Ali Zadran, Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah, Asghar Afghan, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zadran, Samiullah Shinwari, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Dawlat Zadran, Aftab Alam, Hamid Hassan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
