Xtra Time Web Desk: Sunil Chhetri continued his remarkable run in the Indian Super League (ISL), netting his 64th goal to become the tournament's all-time leading goal-scorer. The 40-year-old's historic moment came in the 51st minute via a penalty, pushing him ahead of Bartholomew Ogbeche, with whom he had been tied after scoring a brace in his previous match.

Chhetri’s record-breaking goal was the highlight of Bengaluru FC’s commanding 3-0 victory over Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. BFC secured their third consecutive win, while Mohun Bagan suffered their first defeat of the season.

The match kicked off with an early strike from Edgar Mendez in the 10th minute, as the Spanish midfielder, newly signed from Mexican club Necaxa, opened his ISL account with a well-placed shot following a corner.

In the 20th minute, Chhetri turned provider, setting up Suresh Wangjam to double Bengaluru’s lead. Mohun Bagan tried to claw their way back, but a foul on Mendez inside the box led to a penalty, which Chhetri calmly converted, sealing a memorable night for the veteran and his team.

With this defeat, Mohun Bagan Super Giant extended their winless streak, leaving the Kolkata side searching for answers as they struggle to regain momentum in the ISL.
