Nandhakumar missed a golden opportunity in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper. Despite multiple goal-scoring chances, Diamantakos, Vishnu, and Cleiton failed to break the deadlock in the first half. On the other hand, former East Bengal player Javier Siverio wasted two easy chances. The first half ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

In the second half, Diamantakos, Nandhakumar, and others continued to miss opportunities. However, East Bengal finally found the much-needed goal.
