Xtra Time Web Desk: East Bengal pulled off a sensational second-half comeback to beat Punjab FC 4-2 in an Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. Trailing 0-2 at halftime, the hosts scored four goals in 22 minutes to claim a dramatic victory.

Punjab FC dominated the first half, taking the lead in the 21st minute. Asmir Suljic volleyed home Pulga Vidal’s precise pass, and Vidal himself doubled the advantage with a brilliant individual effort before the break. Punjab looked comfortable as East Bengal struggled to break down their defense.

The second half, however, told a different story. Hijazi Maher ignited East Bengal’s comeback in the 46th minute, heading in Cleiton Silva’s free-kick. Seven minutes later, P.V. Vishnu equalized, capitalizing on Suresh Meitei’s poor clearance to finish past Ravi Kumar.

East Bengal took the lead in the 61st minute when Suresh Meitei turned Nandhakumar Sekar’s cross into his own net. Punjab’s troubles deepened as Khaimingthang Lhungdim was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. East Bengal made the most of the advantage, adding a fourth goal through David Hmar, who headed home Vishnu’s pinpoint cross.

Punjab struggled to respond with ten men, and despite Pulga Vidal’s late attempts, Prabhsukhan Gill made key saves to keep the scoreline intact.

With the win, East Bengal move to 11th with 10 points from 11 matches, while Punjab FC remain in fifth place with 18 points. Punjab will look to bounce back when they face Mohun Bagan Super Giant on December 26 in New Delhi.
