England struck first in the 18th minute through their talisman, Harry Kane. The goal resulted from a lapse in possession by Denmark's Joachim Andersen, which Kyle Walker exploited. Walker's cross found Kane, who converted from close range to put England ahead.

Denmark equalized in spectacular fashion in the 34th minute, thanks to Morten Hjulmand's debut goal for the national team. From about 30 yards out, Hjulmand unleashed a powerful shot that rocketed past Jordan Pickford, hitting the left-hand post before settling into the net.

This draw contributes to the remarkable trend of long-range goals in Euro 2024, with 13 goals from outside the box so far, surpassing the 12 scored in the entire group stage of Euro 2020. These long-distance strikes now account for 28 percent of all goals in the current tournament.
