Xtra Time Web Desk: In a dramatic Group C encounter at Euro 2024, Serbia's substitute Luka Jovic scored a last-minute equalizer, resulting in a 1-1 draw with Slovenia on 20 June, Thursday.

Slovenia initially took the lead with a brilliantly orchestrated goal by right-back Zan Karnicnik, bringing the team to the brink of its first-ever Euros victory. However, Jovic's timely header from a corner five minutes into added time dashed Slovenia's hopes and left them devastated.

Throughout the match, Slovenia had several missed opportunities before Karnicnik's standout moment. Starting from the edge of his penalty area, he surged forward, exchanged passes with Timi Elsnik, and finished with a composed strike past Serbian goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic in the 69th minute.

Despite dominating at times and the efforts of veteran striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who had a close-range attempt deflected onto the woodwork by Karnicnik, Serbia could not capitalize until Jovic's crucial goal.

The draw at the Munich Football Arena places Slovenia in second place with two points, trailing group leader England, who they will face in their final Group C match. Serbia, now at the bottom with one point, is set to play against Denmark next.
