XtraTime Web Desk – After beating Sri Lanka clean in their home turf, Jack Leach has turned his attention to the India series. The spinner has become England’s all time leading wicket taker at Sri Lanka and thus will be coming with a lot of confidence in his bag.

On Monday, Jack said about the strategies he will try to stop Indians. “Ya we have been watching a lot of analysis of Indian batter. So, ya getting to know how they play. I think they will gonna cause a problem I guess. I had that experience in Sri Lanka with guys like Angelo Mathews. I guess playing in Sri Lanka and in playing in those wickets is a good experience to draw on so soon”.

Leach added, “I think it’s mainly about sticking to what I do well and knowing that I have had the experience of bowling to very good batters in the world so I don’t want to complicate things much. Obviously, I am aware of their strengths and I’m gonna be sticking about what I do best”.

Leach is also excited to face India in their home turf where spin bowling is a key element. “It doesn’t get much more exciting and just coming at the end of 6 days of isolation. I’m very excited to get back outside again”.

Being a spinner and bowling to India at India is always a tough job. Speaking about that, Leach said, “I think it’s pressure all the time when you play for England. I put that pressure on myself as I always want to do well for England in wherever we are in the world. In India, there might be a bit more pressure with what wickets will be like and India is great side, they have all the bases covered. So, I don’t wanna put too many assumptions, so I can keep myself in the right headspace and keep bowling hard, then I can be effective”.

There’s a possibility that fans will be allowed during the 3rd and 4th test at Motera. When Leach was asked to give his reaction, he said, “Definitely we want to play in front of crowds, that’s for sure. It needs to be safe. We don’t wanna add any problem in the whole world. So, if it’s safe then it’s great. We want to play in front of crowd as soon as possible”.
