IND vs ENG: Kohli & his boys start outdoor training at Chepauk after completing quarantine

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricket team had their first outdoor training session at the Chepauk after completing their six days quarantine in hotel rooms. All the members of the Indian team cleared the COVID-19 tests and were allowed to train outdoor. Team India’s Captain Virat Kohli and senior pacer Ishant Sharma joined the outdoor training. Kohli missed the last three test matches against Australia while Ishant had to miss the series completely due to injury. Kohli took a break from cricket to return back to India to be by the side of his wife for the birth of their first child.

The BCCI shared a few pictures of the outdoor training session on their instagram story. In one of the pictures, Ishant Sharma – who is returning to the squad was seen hugging a teammate. Bowling coach Bharat Arun can be seen standing along with some other staff members in the next picture. Indian captain Virat Kohli can also be seen in the next picture.

The Indian players had started to arrive in Chennai on Wednesday and completed their quarantine on Monday. They will have their first net session on Tuesday. England cricketers too will have their first net sessions at the MA Chidambaram stadium.

The series opener at the Chepauk – as the MA Chidambaram Stadium is popularly known — begins on February 9. The second match of the series will also be played at the same venue.
