CWC 19: Doubts over Bhuvneshwar, who is the new net bowler called up from India?

Debasis Sen, Manchester: Doubts over the availability of Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 game against West Indies. It is still not sure whether the medium pacer will be match fit before the game against England at Edgbaston on June 30. Medium pacer Navdeep Saini on Monday arrived in Manchester as a net bowler.

Navdeep is known for his express pace and played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2019 IPL, is the only net bowler with the Men in Blue at the moment.

The sudden call-up of Navdeep can probably lead to him being the stand-by cover of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has a hamstring and walked off the field during the clash with Pakistan and subsequently missed the match against Afghanistan.

Bhuvi has been struggling at the moment and trying some short run ups in front of Physio Patrick Farhat and Strength Trainer Shankar Basu. Not only the West Indies match, Bhuvi might be unavailable against England as well.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami are the two seam options for India at present. The issue with Bumrah is that he doesn’t usually bowl much in the nets before the matchdays. Hence there is not much options for team India in the nets as well. India previously sent back their two net bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Deepak Chahar to India.
