ICC CWC 2019: Pant reminds me of my young days, says Farokh Engineer

Debasis Sen, Manchester: Rishabh Pant has joined the Indian cricket team in place of injured Shikhar Dhawan last week as a replacement for the rest of the World Cup. Former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer looked really happy with Pant’s inclusion in the side and he is hopeful that Pant would get a game in the ongoing World Cup in England & Wales.

“I am happy that Rishabh Pant has been brought into the squad and I do hope he gets a game because he is such a deserving player. Rishabh and Dhoni reminds me of my young days. Pant has done very well in IPL and I am hopeful that he will do well for India as well,” said Engineer.

Farokh & Rishabh had a good chat during the India vs Pakistan game where both of them talked about Rishabh’s flaws in keeping. Farokh is hopeful that his tips would help Pant in wicket keeping in near future.

“Rishabh and I had a good chat for half an hour during India Pakistan game, he was so Keen to learn. Certain aspects of wicket keeping, problems he had and all the other things. It was a very good chat. Hopefully he will do better wicketkeeping after the chat,” concluded Engineer.
