Xtra Time Web Desk: Liverpool thrashed FC Porto 5-1 in Champions’ League Group B clash on Tuesday night. Mohamed Salah put the Premier League side ahead in the 18th minute from a rebound after Curtis Jones’ angled drive from the left had been pushed out by the ‘keeper.

Sadio Mane tapped home a second just ahead of half-time after James Milner’s cross from the right went right through the six-yard box. Salah added a second just after the hour after being set up by Curtis Jones.

Mehdi Taremi pulled one back for the hosts, only for Roberto Firmino to roll in a fourth on the break after goalkeeper Diogo Costa was caught upfield and could only race back to scoop the ball out from behind the line. The Brazilian added a fifth when tucking in a rebound.

In another Champions League fixture, Atletico Madrid prevailed over AC Milan. The La Liga side registered a 2-1 win against Milan at San Siro. Luis Suarez scored the winner from a stoppage time penalty.

Milan took the lead in the 20th minute through Rafael Leao whose low shot from the edge of the penalty area beat the Atletico goalkeeper. The home side suffered a blow as Franck Kessie was sent off in 29th minute after being shown a second yellow.

Antoine Griezmann levelled the score with six minutes left in the first half with a well-taken volley. Luis Suarez had the last word when he scored from a penalty in the stoppage time.
