ISL 2023-24: Chennaiyan FC beat Mohun Bagan by 3-2 goals

Xtra Time Web Desk: Mohun Bagan lost to Chennaiyin FC at home ground. The match they lost in the last second was the one they thought they could win. Even the goal scored from a disputed penalty in injury time couldn’t save them. Mohun Bagan lost 2-3 goals at the Yuva Bharati Stadium. They didn’t climb to the top in the ISL points table either. Mumbai City FC remained at the top with 41 points in their 19 matches. Mohun Bagan earned 39 points in their 19 matches. Jonny Kauko and Dimitri Petratos scored goals for Mohun Bagan. Jordan Murray, Rahim Ali, and Irfan Yadhav scored for Chennaiyin. However, it won’t be fair to forget Chennai’s goalkeeper Debjit Majumdar. If he hadn’t made those two saves at the end, Chennaiyin would have drawn the match.

There was controversy over Kauko’s play in Mohun Bagan’s match of the day. He was left out of the starting lineup alongside Anthony Lopez Habas. They kept attacking from the start. Armando Sadiku had an opportunity in front of the goal. However, Mohun Bagan survived conceding a goal thanks to Deepak Tangri. He replaced three defenders and brought in one more, Habas. But gradually Chennaiyin began to dominate the game. Rafael Crivellaro missed a header from a free kick in the 16th minute.
