Yuvraj Singh reveals his future plans to Kevin Pietersen

XtraTime Web Desk: Former India all rounder Yuvraj Singh on Sunday revealed his desire to pursue his career as a coach. In an instagram live chat session with former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, the left hander said he is seriously considering coaching after retiring from the game.

“I’ll start coaching because I’m more keen doing it than commentary. I probably have good insight for limited-overs cricket. I can advice youngsters about the mental approach in different phases of the game. Probably start as a mentor before getting into full-time coaching. I have about 16-17 academies working which I started 10 years ago. I am pretty much set without commentary,” Yuvraj told Pietrsen.
The former England captain wanted to see Yuvraj more into commentary. But the later does not seem to spend too much time doing commentary.

According to Yuvraj, “I’ve played for so many years so just want to take a break for a year. Probably do certain tournaments (commentary) where it makes sense to do it, join with great players like you and Brian Lara and learn about commentating as well. But I am not really sure how I will do as a commentator.”

He added, “Its gonna take some time to get into the mindset of talking about cricket. I understand what you saying but I just thought of taking some time off the game and hopefully become a father. I’m not gonna hurry myself and talk about cricket.”

Pietersen shared some basic tips on commentary to Yuvraj.
“Key to commentary is what you say. Yes it about the articulation about how you say but what you say is also important. Your relevance to the game being recently retired, knowing exactly like Mumbai Indians for instance, you can bring so much experience and knowledge to the viewers. I am 2 years retired now and many of them are retired for 20 years now. Your freshness will let people know what players are exactly thinking these days,” said Pietersen.
