WTC Final 2023: Jadeja, Shubman, Shami & Rahane joins squad in England

Xtra Time Web Desk: The final batch of Indian test squad comprising of Ajinkya Rahane, KS Bharat, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja reached UK on Wednesday. Except Bharat, all four players played in the IPL 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. All of them were given rest by team management and will start training on Thursday.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma attended the first training session with the Indian squad at the Arundel Castle Cricket Club on Tuesday. Also joining the practice session were stand-by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan. The Indian captain was seen spending a long time discussing with Head Coach Rahul Dravid.

Star India batter Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Jaydev Unadkat started training from Monday. Virat was seen facing Umesh Yadav and standby Mukesh Kumar in the nets. He also faced Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel. Kohli is back to his very best, as he had a terrific show in IPL 2023.

Another batter the Indian team management will be heavily relying on is Cheteshwar Pujara, who had an impressive stint with Sussex in County Championships Division 2 games. Shubman Gill too has been in scintillating form in the IPL

Left arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat, coming back after an injury was engaged in a long discussion with head coach Rahul Dravid and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

The much-anticipated World Test Championship Final against Australia will take place at the Oval starting from June 7-11.
