WTC Final 2023: Greenish wicket at the Oval

Xtra Time Web Desk: The stage is set for the second ICC World Test Championship Final here at the Oval which gets underway from Wednesday, June 7. Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will take on Australia which is billed to be an engrossing battle over the next five days. All eyes will be on the wicket here at the Oval. According to Lee Fortis, the curator of Surrey Cricket, the wicket here will produce a result. Talking about the wicket there is a lot of grass left behind, which might help the fast bowlers initially. Traditionally the wicket at the Oval produces good batting surfaces with the surface assisting the slower bowlers as the match goes into the fourth and fifth days.

As far as the weather forecast here in London, rains are predicted on Day 4 and 5. The first two days of the Test will be pleasant and sunny, but the third day will see periods of cloud and sun followed by prediction for showers in the final few two days of the WTC Final. So, there may be some stoppage during the India vs Australia WTC Final 2023.

International Cricket Council has kept Monday, June 12 as a reserve day if there is a considerable time lost in the net playing time. If the match ends in a draw, the trophy would be shared by both India and Australia, with the two nations being joint-winners. Even if the match ends in a tie, the trophy will be shared by two teams.
