USA Beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 to Reach FIFA World Cup Round of 16
Hosts the United States booked their place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 with a convincing 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina

Xtratime Web Desk: Hosts the United States booked their place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 with a convincing 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half after Folarin Balogun was sent off, the Americans comfortably held on for the win. Balogun and Malik Tillman scored the goals.
The breakthrough came just before halftime. Tillman's pass deflected off a Bosnia and Herzegovina defender and fell kindly to Balogun, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net to give the United States a 1-0 lead.
The hosts suffered a setback in the 64th minute when Balogun received a straight red card following a VAR review for a dangerous challenge on Tarik. However, playing with 10 men did little to slow the Americans down.
Tillman sealed the victory with a superbly taken free-kick, doubling the lead and ensuring the United States advanced to the knockout stage.
The win marks a significant achievement for the hosts. The United States' only previous victory in a FIFA World Cup knockout match came in 2002, when they defeated Mexico to reach the quarter-finals.
The Americans will now face Belgium in the Round of 16 on July 6. Belgium secured their place in the knockout stage after a dramatic victory over Senegal in their previous match.
