France delivered another statement performance at the FIFA World Cup, outclassing Sweden 3-0 in a match that could easily have ended 5-0. Didier Deschamps' side dominated from start to finish, leaving Sweden with little room to compete and reinforcing their status as one of the tournament favourites.

The French looked effortless in possession, moving the ball with fluency and creating chances at will. Their display was a reminder of how simple football can appear when executed at the highest level.

Kylian Mbappé was once again the star of the night, scoring twice to take his tournament tally to six goals, drawing level with Lionel Messi in the race for the Golden Boot.

More significantly, Mbappé became the outright highest scorer in FIFA World Cup knockout history. His brace took his knockout tally to 10 goals, surpassing the previous record of eight, jointly held by Brazilian legends Leônidas da Silva and Ronaldo Nazário.

The achievement further cements Mbappé's place among the greatest performers in World Cup history.

While Mbappé grabbed the headlines with his goals, Michael Olise was the creative force behind France's attack. Operating in the No. 10 role, Olise dictated the tempo and repeatedly unlocked the Swedish defence with his vision and passing.

His assist for Bradley Barcola's goal took his tally to five assists in the tournament, making him the first player since the 1994 FIFA World Cup to register five assists in a single edition of the competition.

France broke the deadlock just before halftime through Mbappé, who produced a moment of individual brilliance. Collecting the ball on the left flank, he dribbled past multiple defenders before calmly finishing to give France the lead.

The second goal showcased France's attacking chemistry. Olise delivered a perfectly weighted pass to Bradley Barcola, who finished confidently to double the advantage.

Mbappé completed the scoring with his second goal of the evening, putting the result beyond doubt and sealing another dominant victory for Les Bleus.

After scoring his second goal, Mbappé sprinted towards head coach Didier Deschamps in an emotional celebration. The rest of the squad quickly joined in, surrounding their manager in a heartfelt moment.

Deschamps recently lost his mother and had briefly returned to France during the tournament. The team's celebration was a touching tribute, showing their support and respect for their coach during a difficult personal time.

After dismantling Sweden with such authority, questions are already being asked about which team can stop this French side. With world-class talent across every position, a clinical attack, and a cohesive system under Deschamps, France continue to look like the team to beat.

If they maintain this level of performance, Les Bleus will remain firm favourites to lift the World Cup trophy once again.
