ISL clubs and the AIFF have come to agreement; will announce details at press conference tomorrow
The plan for the 2026–27 season, which would set the stage for Indian football's next phase, is also anticipated to be revealed at the news conference.

There looks to be good news as clarity about the Indian Super League's (ISL) new commercial agreement finally seems to be approaching after months of ambiguity.
The club-led agreement will be publicly announced on Wednesday at a joint news conference in New Delhi by the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) and ISL teams. The plan for the 2026–27 season, which would set the stage for Indian football's next phase, is also anticipated to be revealed at the news conference.
The AIFF and ISL clubs are scheduled to attend the news conference on Wednesday, July 8, at 11 a.m. IST. Senior AIFF executives and ISL club representatives are scheduled to speak to the media, with an emphasis on the 2026–2027 ISL season and the league's future plans.
During this news conference, it is anticipated that the club-led model would receive formal approval.
For the next Indian Super League (ISL) season, the agreement is anticipated to implement a club-led model that would give ISL teams more influence over the league's general governance and decision-making.
It is anticipated that the new model would enable the clubs to collaborate with the AIFF on a number of issues, including the league's operational and financial future.
In addition to the audit rights over the league's financial records, AIFF would get 10% of the league's net profit under this proposed deal. Additionally, the AIFF will get a yearly payment of ₹1.1 crore from each participating club, or ₹15.4 crore if 14 clubs take part.
A major reason is that the club owners believe they are in a better position to maximise the ISL’s commercial value. The clubs believe that they are very efficient to take a larger role in the league’s future. With established relations with sponsors and various stakeholders involved already, they feel they are better positioned to unlock the potential of the ISL.
